Good day Honda afficiados

My 94 civic temperature control slider is messed up from me forcing it
(after 8 years of pushing it over slowly and playing with the fan speed
control to get it to slide) I know from sitting in some other folks similar
year civics this heat slider control problem is not an uncommon.

This car has well over 250K on it, with quite a few of them "flogging"
mileage. Dented and rusted I am hoping to milk a few more miles out of it,
but need to get that temperature control up. I'd be happy just having it in
the full heat position. I don't want to really ugly up my dash with a
sawz-all or exacto knife.

How do I get in there or what's the best way to get those internals to open
up that valve so I can get some heat.????

K.B.'s hint of the day..... if you ever put cardboard in front of your
radiator to increase the heat output, make sure you put a sign on your
dashboard about the car being equipped thusly.

over to the valve in the coolant line.
