I was reading a few days back on civic's and started to think if my 2000
civic EX has overdrive?

i know a lot of automatic cars have a small O/D button on switch on/off
overdrive. Just now sure if its already there in civic 2000 ex.

are usually listed as successive "D" gears. D3 is drive, D4 & D5 (if so
equipped) are overdrive gears.

IMO it is all pretty silly. For all these cars to perform correctly,
whether they have the button or list it out on the shift pattern, the
transmission should always be put into the highest drive gear and allowed to
fend for itself unless you are trying to coast down the mountain while
pulling your house behind it.
