Default Honda-compatible in-dash multi-disc CD/MP3 player? - 12-18-2004 , 03:07 AM

I have a 99 Accord with factory radio/cassette with CD controls.
I'm looking for an add-on in-dash multi-disc CD/MP3 player that
I can control with the existing head unit. Something like Honda's
6 CD in-dash player, but with MP3 capability.

Does Honda make one of these for the 99 Accord? Does anyone?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Honda doesn't, but you can add a third party unit with the help of a
third party CD changer interface cable.
I fail to see the need for a changer if the unit supports MP3 off a disk. One
disk holds anywhere from 10 to 15 complete albums. I've got almost my entire
music collection in one of those sun-visor disk holders.

I agree that a CD holds quite a few MP3s, but in my case, my MP3s are
organised on each CD by artist and by genre. To make matters worse, I
mostly have complete discographies, or at least several albums from each
singer. So if I play any one of my CDs, I would only be able to listen
to one type of music at best, if not a single artist.

The only solution I found was to burn MP3 compilations. But those take
quite a bit of time to create (try sorting through 45Gb of music) and
they get boring after a while.

Yes, I do the same thing. I organize my CDs by artist, to make
it easier to find the albums I want (as I tend to listen to whole
CDs rather than individual songs). Don't have any compilations of
individual songs.

Obviously, it wouldn't kill me to change the MP3s, or to make MP3s
with different albums. But I'd prefer a multi-disc MP3 changer. If
I can't do that, then I'd get a single-disc MP3.

Any suggestions for in-dash multi-disc MP3/CD players?

Thanks,
Peter
