RJA,

Right!
What BS, Honda know full well that 1qt/1000miles is a lot of oil &
represents the extreme, which most would expect only after 150,000 miles of
"hard driving" which in my experience these cars rarely see due to modern
traffic congestion & other driving constraints.

An endoscope can be used to examine cylinder wear & your valve seals could
be worn but I'll bet you just have general advanced engine wear.
I think I would sell the car.

Looks like these Preludes are not fit for tons of highway driving. My
1999
Prelude is burning oil at alarming rates (about a qt. a week) after a few
years of highway driving at 80mph and about 84 miles per day. At least
that's what the mechanic says. Honda says that a high performance sports
car like mine can burn 1qt of oil per 1000 miles and that's not unusual.
Wasn't happening before though. Anyone else having this issue? It's only
got 72K on it.

My 86 Civic Wagon (180,250 km) doesn't lose a drop between changes at 3500
km. So that can't be normal.
