I have a new Pilot, got it 10 days ago. Seems to me it shifts before it should. When on cruise control at 75, it shifts down on each little rise. Any insight? |

It's normal for the Pilot. Mine is the same way. It's the only thing I don't like about it. The tranny is screwy like you wouldn't believe. I guess they are trying to get as many MPG as possible. I would happily trade a few MPG for a four speed that keeps the rpm up in a range where it does not need to downshift for every little thing. It looks like 5th gear can only maintain speed on level ground but cannot excellerate. But whats worse is you cannot force it to run in 4th! There is no 4th gear selection. Also, the thing is a little slow to figure out what gear it should be in. It seems that if it needs to go to 2nd from 4th, it first has to go to 3rd. Other than my gripes about the tranny it's a great vehicle. Dave "Bob Burns" <rlburns (AT) uplink (DOT) net> wrote in message news:7yOVa.96$jg7.65 (AT) newsread3 (DOT) news.pas.earthlink.net...
