Default Remote Start - 01-02-2005 , 04:02 PM

It would be nice, but I was wondering if there 's an easy to install do it
yourself kit? Lots of wires under the dash it would be easy to deplore the
air bags, not knowing what wires are what.

Thanks
Tom

I suggest that you visit a magazine shop or library and examine or buy
several differnet car magazines such as Honda Tuning and or Import Tuner.
Read all the ads. If there is such a product or kit--that is where they
would be advertised.

go to the manufacturers website and see if they have an installation

Several places make them including DEI (http://www.directed.com) and
CrimeStopper (http://www.crimestopper.com). Installing one yourself is
doable if you have some experience with automotive electronics, but it
is quite involved. If your car has a manual transmission the whole
project gets a bit sketchy. I have heard of kits (from a Canadian
manufacturer???) that will work safely on manual cars, but I have never
been able to locate such a kit.

I don’t know about a kit but the manufacturers web site for my starter
told me where the wire was and what colour to get.

Astro-Start is the Canadian company that makes a decent unit for stick-shift
cars.
