Greetings,
2001 Civic with 22K miles on it. The front suspension makes an odd
noise at low speed when it hits a pothole. Kind of like if you bounced
a ball and didn't let it bounce back up, i.e., a lot of very small
bounces. On the highway certain expansion joints or potholes (not all)
make the steering wheel "wobble" and a feeling of loss of control. Tire
inflation doesn't seem to matter ( a little soft, a little hard or just
right yields the same results).
For safety reasons, I want to get it fixed, but before doing so I would
like a group diagnosis and some estimated costs. |
At the moment, this sounds most like worn shocks, which are inside your
strut bodies.
Also have a competent (ha!) mechanic check all the springs, links, pivot
points and bushings in the front end.
