I took my 99 Accord LX V6 in for the safety recall, and it worked when it came home, but within the week I lost the alternator ($300) and then the speedometer ($500!). The car had not given a single problem in 120K miles. Dealer said it was just a coincidence. Anyone else seen this? |

I realize that this won't help you--but I agree with you. I believe that the mechanic screwed up and accidently shorted out some of the wiring. However, I am only guessing. You should talk to the service department manager about any appeal procedures that will force Honda to pay for the repairs. |

If you're still not happy, sue them in small claims court. |
