I replaced my main battery on my 2001 Honda Accord EX (V6) and the loss of voltage to the Sony CD player caused it to lock down and require a CODE. So I guess I have to go back to the dealer, are they going to charge some fee for that? Mark ================================= |

Mark ================================= They can't help you if it's been changed to a SONY unless they somehow typed the CODE into your service file. You'll probably have to look in the paperwork for the SONY, or contact the previous owner. Try looking for NOTES: hand-written in your owner's manual. If you had a Honda stereo, this TSB from HONDA would have helped you: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/tsb/misc/x98-026e.pdf 'Curly' |

I guess it looks kind of "sonyish" to me stylewise (maybe behind the scenes, Sony manufactures it for Honda). |

Or, you can look through the things you were given with the car. If you bought it new, it should have come with the stereo code. If you bought it used, hopefully the old owner passed it on. Will the dealer charge you? Perhaps. But for just looking up the code, I don't think they should... |

Yes, but the instructions there won't help. The car has no glove box sticker for the radio. Hopefully carmax has the serial because I really don't want to have the radio pulled. |
