It sounds like there is a vaccum leakage in the brake system. Have it
checked thoroughly by a mechanic.

I have an 03 Accord EX V6 sedan with about 17K miles. About a month ago I
pulled out of my drive way, went a few blocks and went to apply the brakes
and all I got was a hard peddle but the car wouldn't stop. I was quickly
working the e-brake to get it to stop before the intersection. I was very
cautious for the next few days, but it never happened. Well the other day
my wife wend to move the car and came in scared to death. She said that
when she pulled into the drive she almost hit the house because the car
wouldn't stop. She was ok and the car didn't sustain any damage. I
consider one time a fluke, but twice is a problem and it can be a very
serious problem. I took it to the dealer and told them the story and, of
course they haven't heard of this problem yet. They insisted that I leave
it with them. Has anyone had a similar problem with their 03 or any Honda
they have owned?

I had an 86 Toyota Cressida. Due to the pedals arrangement, sometimes my foot
hit the gas pedal while stepping on the brake. In this case, the car would not
slow down. I don't ever have this problem with any other cars.

Are the pedals close to each other on your Accord?

The 86 was a pretty small car, not much room for the petals.

Yes the pedals are too close on the 03, but it was a hard pedal. I was
pressing with great force, but the car was not stopping.

You're thinking of the Corolla, Mikey. "Corolla" *means* "petals".

Our '86 MR2 is even tighter than the Cressida. Never hit the wrong pedal on
that one yet.

Intermittent booster check valve leak?
