How about disconnecting the battery for a minute. By 1999 you should
be able to do with the Radio fuse for a minute. I don't know about UK,
but in US by 1996 all are OBD-II. Check your engine hood decal.

I've disconnected the battery overnight!

In UK it was 2000 we got OBD-II.
