That is a falsehood.

And if you're using your side-view mirrors as rear-view mirrors, then
you've got them aimed wrongly.

There is nothing incorrect in the way in which I have my side mirrors
aimed. It only takes a bit of movement of my head to view everything
from curb to curb and to the rear in my mirrors. I have been driving
heavy trucks for decades and not one of them had a rear view mirror (or
window), no issues in any regards in those vehicles or smaller vehicles.

See my reply in aah.

Unless you are craning all over the place, there is no way you can see
someone who', say 15 feet from your rear end. I'm not talking about
to use for backing, that's what the neck and rear window are for (oh,
wait, you don't have one), I'm talking about slow speed manuvering.

NASCAR cars don't have side mirrors.

Might as well do away with it.

In the past I have taken the inside mirror out of the vehicle. Now I
use it to mount the E-Pass on it and because it has a thermometer in it.

Ideal location for a 'Wink' or panoramic mirror.
Man, those take some getting used to. Had one in the BMW I kind of
raced a couple of years back (thanks to some rule changes, "kind of"
is the operative phrase). It took me several hours of intense driving
to get past the sectional point of view they offer.

I meant the window.
Tinting it dark enough that one can't see in or out of it is the same
as removing the useless piece of glass.

Not using it (as you claim) is rendering it useless.
