Thank you to all who replied to my previous post "Are new hondas
maintenance free".

These days I am looking to change my Accord 93 LX with 200000km on it.
I love this car but only reason is that my wife cannot drive stick
shift and we do not want to have 2 cars. First I thought to buy a new
Corolla or Civic and I test drove both 2005 models but after driving
this accord for some years, I did not like anyone of these new models.
(seems like very small/conjusted from inside and even my 93 accord has
more kick then these)

Now I considering 2000-2002 Accord Automatic. I would like to know what
are the things I need to consider before making a final deal. I was
told that Accords after 1998 need timing belt replacement after 160Kkm,
is that true? Are there any other major items that I need to consider?

it may be 160,000km (depends on which engine). I have a '93 Accord, and its
interval is 144,000km (or 6 years).

I would suggest you teach your wife to drive a stick shift like millions of
other women do.

The four cyld. EX models are the best ones to consider since they have
more features than the LX models. Run a carfax report before you buy it.
The 2002's are slighly better since minor improvements were made each
year. I have a 1999 Accord EX and I love it--no major problems and it has
61,000 miles on it.
