What a pitiful turnout. When I used to go you had to ride the
buses
to
the track and plan on an all day event. With 10k you could go
watch
at
noon for 2 hours and when it got hot you could leave and come
back
for
the real qualifying late in the day. My company used to give
good
customers pole day tickets and fly then to Indy. The best
customers
went to the 500.

These days it's Daytona for the customers. One guy asked me if
they
still ran at Indy.

from the article written by RM:

"It was another dose of reality Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway,
another reminder of how this day, this month and this race are
crying
out
for an extreme makeover."

Who gets to fire Miller this time?

The reading, astute, motorsports following
public? Nevermind, they fired, laughed at and
started to disaregard his opinion long ago.

I can see the higher dosage level in the TGKool-aid is taking effect.

I love it how everyone disses RM whenever he rips on their favorite
series, yet applauds him when he goes after the opposing one.

So, there must be some truth to what he says...

Such mal-analyses are on a par with: I love it the way
both sides have grown to despise Mr. X (Hitler, Nixon,
Bush ...) "so there must be some truth to what he says".
It's tantamount to implying or portraying the truth as
automatically having to lie somewhere in the middle
of two perceived or purported extremes and is pure
and simple sophistry. How 'bout: the Nazis hated the
Jews, the Jews hated the Nazis ... ; or some say the
earth is a flat disc, others say it's an oblate sphere ...

We know the dotbot can't handle the truth and any form, so
what the fuck does that mindless bullshit have to do with RM calling
it like he sees it?

Even if by some anomaly of nature he could actually
discern truth, his total and complete lack of intellect
and integrity would surely still prevent his accurately
and truthfully relating it. His utter absence of honor and
character clearly knows no bounds. It's also always
been crystal clear that English doesn't and never has so
much as made an appearance in the lexicons of these
reading comprehension challenged rubes.

I remember pole day years ago when it took almost an hour on the bus
to get there. The lines for food was an hour. The lines to the
restrooms were 20 minutes. It was a very exciting and packed event.

Saturday you could park a block away and go home for lunch and return
and find your parking place empty.

And this newsgroup would be filled with hundreds of posts this
time of year.

Bob

And the majority of those posts would be about the actual race, and not
worthless tripe from pathetic trolls.

Yeah, well we all know why it isn't these days, don't we. You must be

It must be very hard for you to admit how the IRL has crushed open wheel
in the U.S. How Tony George has single-handedly ruined an entire sport
and its most important event.

Default Crossposting dot (was Re: 10,000 for Pole Day?) - 05-14-2007 , 03:09 PM

Please note that the dot crossposts to rec.auto.sport.cart on each of
'its' posts regardless of whether the original post included that ng or not.

That's 'its' way of making sure 'its' posts are seen by a much larger
number of people than visit rec.autos.sport.indy

Wrong yet again (as if it were any longer necessary
to even state), not only is that not my motivation,
but there exist far more posts (for those that can
distinguish the difference, very much unlike the OP)
in rasi than there are in rasc. There are almost zero
posts and replies from denizens in the latter group
that don't also post/reply to the former.

It IS your habit to cross-post as your reply indicates. So you're not
only trying to grab attention by cross-posting, but you're starting the
process so that threads get cross-posted.

That makes you a liar. But that's also not a surprise to anyone on
either group.

Wrong yet again. I've many prior times addressed
my multiple reasons for doing so, but despite being
spoon fed, you're still not even close. And coming
from a pusillanimous, addlepated, mental defective,
nincompoop, incompetent, pathological lying loser
like you, those risible censures and assertions carry
such IMMENSE ersatz significance.
