I can't wait to hear Ken spin this one. "Imagine how much worse things would be now if CART were running the series." |

"Imagine how much worse things would be now if CART were running the series." It's almost like CART was running it now. They've engineered the cars so they can't pass on a short track. Richmond used to be the action track of the series, and this year the winning drivers apologized to the fans for Saturday's merry-go-round. They want to open next season in Brazil. Even their top Brazilian driver (Castroneves) thinks that's a mistake. Their crack commercial division manager thinks it will be great to have half the races on road courses. So much for the oval tradition. |

I understand all you guys rejoicing over TG's change of status, since you blame him for everything. But his demotion may very well be the death blow. |

So much for the oval tradition. The oval 'tradition' was a farce to begin with. From day one, it was obvious that the only thing that TG wanted was to control CART. That the IRL has transformed itself into CART, only a less popular and far less interesting version only confirms this idea. |

It was never about anything but TG's ego. |

That's the end of it. |

Well, there is the irony that the owners of the Indianapolis 500 really have reason to worry about where that field will come from. I guess they were right after all. |
