It's almost like CART was running it now. They've engineered the cars
so they can't pass on a short track. Richmond used to be the action
track of the series, and this year the winning drivers apologized to
the fans for Saturday's merry-go-round.

They want to open next season in Brazil. Even their top Brazilian
driver (Castroneves) thinks that's a mistake. Their crack commercial
division manager thinks it will be great to have half the races on
road courses. So much for the oval tradition.

I understand all you guys rejoicing over TG's change of status, since
you blame him for everything. But his demotion may very well be the
death blow.

Well, there is the irony that the owners of the Indianapolis 500
really have reason to worry about where that field will come from. I
guess they were right after all.

The oval 'tradition' was a farce to begin with. From day one, it was
obvious that the only thing that TG wanted was to control CART. That
the IRL has transformed itself into CART, only a less popular and far
less interesting version only confirms this idea.

It was never about anything but TG's ego.

The IRL died a long time ago. The idiots in denial failed to see it.
Plunkin is certainly a member of the IRL KoolAid gang.

As opposed to nobody in CART having an ego?

Whether he's there or not, it appears that the IRL no longer has
access to Hulman wealth.

That's the end of it.

Which relates to no more operating budget.

Buh bye, IRL.

Congrats to TG. He killed North American open wheel. He will go down
in history as the biggest egotistical imbecile in racing.

There's lots of open wheel in the world. And there is not a lot of NASCAR
style in the world.

If it was all about my home and native land, or my cousins to the south in the
USA, that would matter.

Hell, if the sport doesn't cut it. So be it.

And, being a fan of "The world's greatest race", I always wanted to visit
Lemans anyway.

Indianapolis was all hyperbole and hype to me.
