What a pitiful turnout. When I used to go you had to ride the buses to the track and plan on an all day event. With 10k you could go watch at noon for 2 hours and when it got hot you could leave and come back for the real qualifying late in the day. My company used to give good customers pole day tickets and fly then to Indy. The best customers went to the 500. These days it's Daytona for the customers. One guy asked me if they still ran at Indy. TGFTG http://www.speedtv.com/commentary/37327/ |

I can see the higher dosage level in the TGKool-aid is taking effect. I love it how everyone disses RM whenever he rips on their favorite series, yet applauds him when he goes after the opposing one. So, there must be some truth to what he says... |

Yup, since he no longer has ties to any series, newspaper or city, his opinions are his own. I didn't like him questioning the survival of CC , but didn't mind when he ripped the IRL's flying circus-mobiles. |

There are a lot of things he has said recently that I don't agree with, but guess what? That's life. His recent proposal to get rid of carbon fiber and go back to cars made of tubing and aluminum in my opinion was one of the dumbest ideas he ever had. I understand the logic behind it, but he has forgotten one very big thing. Carbon fiber may have been one of the biggest safety advances in Champ Car racing since the use of Nomex and fuel cells became the norm. Many of the accidents that have recently occurred would likely have resulted in far greater injury to the driver if not for the carbon fiber tubs. That's ok though. One thing about adults is that adults can disagree and still have a respect. Just as he blast the IRL, he has every right to question CC future. You don't necessarily have to agree with the conclusions, or even like it. You also have every right to question his modivation for those opinions and take his recent relationship with CC and its ending as a part of may drive that opinion. Yet with most things in life, like in business, if both sides finally agree to a deal but neither are totally happy with it, it usually is one thing. That's fair. Robin may be a lot of things, he may be polorizing, but he is also fair. |
