Any recommendations on where to sit? We've never been to WG before and are trying to figure out where to try for tickets. Any other WG recommendations welcome. Thanks! |

Depends on what you like to see. The front stretch is a good bet - you'll get a view of the pits, the cars running at high speed, and the pre and post race celebrations. If you want to see a bit more action, the grand stand on the outside of The 90 (turn 1) is a good one. Both locations have jumbo screens so you can watch the action elsewhere on track. If you want GA tickets and would rather find a nice spot elsewhere on track, the grandstands at the bottom of the Esses are nice (don't know if they're still open to GA anymore - they were when I was last there as a spectator). Otherwise, I'd recommend the Boot. Either go to where the cars enter the Boot and get a nice look at them diving downhill in that fast sweeping left, or the heel of the Boot which gives you a nice view of the cars under braking and then accelerating up the hill. There's usually a fair amount of action there. -- forty "There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I like to think that I walk that line every day of my life." |

I heard they were in dicey negotiations and that it may be moved to September (great camping weather, NOT!). I went this year and it was awesome. Camped near the boot and had a great time.
