Default CART's Doomsday Clock moved forward. - 07-23-2003 , 09:25 AM

Was: Two minutes to midnight.

Is now: One minute and thirty seconds to midnight.

Rationale: CART's recently released corporate guidance:

"Due to the continuing downward trend in several of its critical
revenue streams, as discussed above, and a lowering of its
expectations regarding the 2004 year, management now expects that it
will need to raise additional capital to complete the 2004 season."

Sorry, CHUMPS, you've got 90 seconds 'til oblivion. The wolf is at the
door.

"Why did you wreck this company?"
"Because it's wreckable!"

Can't say our boyz weren't forewarned.

Last week I posted an article describing the weird behavior of over 200
residents sitting in the lobby at TOCH just staring at the clock. We
knew something was up. We just didn't know what.

On that note I'd like to make a plea for donations. Our stockpiles of
lithium, prozac and ritalin (for our younger residents) are almost
diminished after these announcements. The facility is on lockdown but
CHUMPS are suffering.

We have also instituted a new program: Adopt a CHUMP

For only $9.95 per month you can adopt your very own CHUMP. Upon the
initial payment we will send you an 8 X 10 black and white glossy of
your special charge. When you see the forlorn face of your CHUMP we
know you will continue to fund his stay for years to come.

Check with your accountants, contributions may be tax deductible.
Please send whatever you can to:

You mean TOCH isn't where the profits of an attending fan base of 2.6
million folks are being siphoned off to?

Sadly, no, But one would think a series generating 130,000 fans per
race might throw a crumb or two toward its numero uno support
organization. I mean even NASCAR doesn't average that many fans and it
gives money to Jesse Jackson.

It's also good to remember TOCH, patterned after CART, is a nonprofit
organization.
