Default CART's Doomsday Clock moved forward. - 01-01-2004 , 08:27 AM

Was: 15 minutes to midnight.

Is now: 12 minutes to midnight.

Rationale: Two things. First, the bankruptcy court leaving open the
question regarding the automatic assumption of race dates as part of a
buy out offer.

Secondly, other, new entities, specifically ISC, competitively bidding
on CART's assets. No matter what happens now, the price of poker just
went up for a bunch of guys who like to buy things on the cheap.

CART is gone.

They can't even pay their electric bill or their trash service.

Done. Kaput.

RIP

Isn't Mickey's big hand the minutes, and the one that goes really
fast, like Paul Tracy, the seconds?

Just checking.

Wonder if ISC wants the Cosworths at a discount for their Daytona Prototypes
:-)

At least that would give DPs some credibility as decent racing cars.

Overheard at the unveiling of the DPs for '04:

"Damn. These things *can* get uglier."

Oh, I dont know, they dont look too bad to the guys that are lining to get
some. I think they look so much better than the WSC's that someone else
tossed our way not so long ago.

At midnight, do you stop being a piece of shit?

What is amazing is that this EARLette keeps posting the doomsday clock yet
several months ago he was posting that it was 2 minutes to midnight and now
CART has moved back to 12-15 minutes...obviously this EARLette finally got the
message that CART is not going away and that the he is afraid that this new
ownership group will bring CART back to the days prior to King George and the
EARLettes....he is in his own way admitting defeat

He has admitted that he is piece of "crapola" by admitting that his own
doomsday clock has gone backwards in the past several months
