The crew was walking out the door for the final time. Some were
standing in the parking lot, maybe they were talking about where they
would go to find a new job. After staying on at the request of
management till the last of the week. It looked as if Conquest's CCWS
team had flatlined and the crews would be on the unemployment line. At
the last minute, just like in a Hollywood movie. The phone rang with
news of an agreement that would keep the door open, albeit as a 1 car
team instead of the two car effort of the past. No details as to who
this sponsor is or the amount of the deal but based on comments it
seems as Conquest will limp along this season working with a limited
budget. Just a few months ago everyone was touting Conquest as a solid
two car effort, then MiJack dumped them for NASCAR and suddenly they
were faced with an uncertain future. With this information what was
thought of as a solid 22-24 cars now look as if the number maybe
around 17 and could even be 16 if other teams cut down to single cars
as rumored.

Looks like KK and company will be investing heavily again in 2007.
