Default Danica to F1 -- Bwaaaaannnhhhhhhhhhhh!!! - 02-16-2009 , 12:45 PM

Apologies to the Paganites, but this is too funny. She can't even get
a real win in the IRL and some buffoon wants to send her to F1???

I laughed when I read that. Total nonsense. My biggest question is
whether she'd be more lost on the track or in the paddock.

You never know. She might have the driving skills to drive an F1 car.
You never know.

Ummmm.....hence the term "a real win"...not a gas mileage duel with
Helio.

Sure she could drive it, but I could also drive it. Driving fast and
winning is what good teams want. She would not be competitive enough
to deserve the seat...kind of like she is in the IRL, although half
the drivers don't deserve the seats they have there.

Sorry, but a win is a win - even if it is a gas mileage, crash, or a
mechanical duel. Here's the final 2008 stats;
http://www.indycar.com/stats/race_results.php?year=2008

Seems she was in top 10 out of 10 on her stats page with her 1 win. Total
race winnings $1.3+ million.
Probably a lot more off sponsors - okay, a lot more out of Go-Daddy and
Motorola (add. $3 million).

What's next? Half a touchdown?

Fwiw, I can't stand her off-track television personality, but I do get a
kick out of her when someone bangs her car and she wants to have a "polite"
conversation with them (male or female). Makes for great TV - political or
ethical correctness be damned.

Sorry, but a win is a win - even if it is a gas mileage, crash, or a

But, when determining how good the DRIVER is (like in the context here),
a win based on speed and skill counts more than a tactical win by the team.

She would be a disaster in the F1 paddock. The antics she gets away with
in the States would not be tolerated in F1. I could see her storming
over to the Ferrari garage because she thought Kimi lapped her too
aggressively - making a total fool out of herself and the team.

Indeed - her performance in the slower Formula Honda cars is more than
enough evidence to conclude that she would be horribly out of her league
in F1.

And we haven't seen F1 drivers storm down the pit lane and enter another
team's garage after an incident?

Now--I'm not defending her--I think her antics are a distraction and she
needs to be taught a lesson via fines, etc to put an end to it; that
crap may fly in karting, but at the "top" levels of racing, civility
should be applied (e.g. take it behind closed doors and have a
discussion, not a shouting match). [sadly though, it seems that such
action is considered "exciting" and gobbled up by the public {not just
the American public...}]

On a more technical note: the only advantage she might have is
weight--they'll be better able to move more weight where they want on
the car... (although, her ego might make the cockpit a bit top-heavy...)
