| I want to remind all IndyCar fans that when ChampCar finally breaths it's last breath we should offer our sympathy to their fans. We have to remember that they should have been in the IRL a few years ago. They left Indy, or was kicked out, whatever. After the split ChampCar was the true IndyCar series. Slowly but surely the IRL stole that magic that ChampCar once had. The IRL slowly but surely became the true IndyCars. When ChampCar dies they will come back to where they belong - in the IRL. They will be coming home. This split was like Vietnam and America in the 1960's. A sad war and a turbulent time. But the war is about over. The boys are coming home. Saigon is falling. ChampCar will take its last step. But the future is bright. The ChampCar drivers will add excitement to what is already the premier open wheel racing series in the World. The IRL will also add Long Beach, the Australian race, and I'm sure get back to Canada for two races a year. So the ChampCar drivers will feel right at home. Yes, the IRL fans have a right to be upset over what could be considered treason by ChampCar. But I'm sure after ChampCar ends, their fans will ashamed of what their series has done and not done over the years. Lets not lash out at the ChampCar crowd. They will have enough shame in their series to last a lifetime. We have to help them ease the pain. What better way to ease their pain than to let the ChampCar drivers race against the best race car drivers in the world - wheel to wheel on an oval super speedway? Remember - IRL = Dad and Mom. ChampCar = eighteen year old impetuous son or daughter who thinks they can move out, keep a job, pay a car payment, and pay rent and utilities, with ease, only to come back to Dad and Mom in a few months. We have to accept them back. |
