Now the IRL next year is
in the last year of its chassis specs aren't they?

2005 was the planned end of this chassis.

Maybe they're planning to outlive Kurtis midgets.

Could all of the teams have coughed up the cash for new chassis last
year? How many more teams would have dropped out rather than be able to
come up with the money for a new chassis?

There have been a lot of ways this could have been settled years ago that
would have had a positive effect. They were not done largely because of one
man in my opinion. Many have tried to pressure a reunification. Ego is a
powerful thing. Now its been long enough that if TG even ends up with
partial control, I might be gone. If he ends up owning 50% of a unified
series I am definately gone for good. IF he goes back to being just a track
owner at IMS and champ car comes back, Id buy a ticket for the race. The
later is probably the least likely to happen. Ego and a big bank account
can make one do some interesting things.
Exactly. And the same basic conclusion C. Cavin draws constantly in
his web updates. Smart people should form their conclusions from this
type of commentary. Unless they have a direct pipeline to King Tony.

One needs no direct pipeline or inside information to think for themselves.
