The two car team and drivers could officially be announced tomorrow. From Wikipedia:Cahill Racing is an Indy Racing League IndyCar series team owned by Iowa businessman Larry Cahill. The team initially was active from 1998-2002. From 1999 to 2000 the team was sponsored by Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce, a company with a history of failing to complete the commitments of their auto racing sponsorship contracts. However, the team was able to continue until 2002, the last season before large cost increases of the 2003 season brought by the former CART engine manufacturers and teams. The team's best finish during that time was a third place at the 2000 Phoenix International Raceway race by Donnie Beechler. |

I am sure we do not want to go into sponsors profiles, especially since ccws has so few and the ones they do have are questionable. You do not want to go to the stock profile of Lexington energy. The entire market cap on the company is not enough to pay the tire bill for a ccws team. Just so you will know that i do not spin things, it was announced that the cahill announcement was delayed due to personal matters. Yes it is a PR black eye but we will have to wait to see if it is rescheduled. Now would you announce something such as this if it happened to a ccws team??? I doubt it.Are you stunod, or what? *You shill and whine, edit context to suit your needs, and then you equivocate and place blame on others. *This is merely a reprint from Wikipedia, as stated. *I'm sure Hugo Chavez will pay his sponsorship bills to Cahill...so much for the IRL being 'All American.' The IRL, and you, are now embracing a team sponsored by the interests of Chavez, et al. * Face facts, if CCWS did this, you'd be on your patriotic high-horse bleating about this 'Un-American activity.' Also, there are two more foreign drivers coming in to the IRL and not a word of protest from you? Your posts lack consistency, as they are derived from your own special brand of hypocrisy. ================================================== =============== Chavez touts socialism in inauguration 2007/1 By IAN JAMES, Associated Press Writer 3 minutes ago CARACAS, Venezuela - Invoking Christ and Castro as his socialist models, President Hugo Chavez began his third term Wednesday by declaring that socialism, not capitalism, is the only way forward for Venezuela and the world.- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text - |

As long as we are talking about sponsors <snip>I take it from your 'IRL has many new sponsors and twenty cars' tangent that you're just fine with the IRL being supported by Hugo Chavez by way of Cahill Racing? *After all, you're posting triumphantly about the big (now delayed) announcement, and going-on-on about other alleged sponsorship machinations; sort of Machiavellian, no? BTW, twenty cars make the first grid? *Is that number available for wagering, or are you just too chicken-shit to bet? |

If i wanted to go by intentions i could say that there are 22 confirmed at this time. I however wait till there is more than just a rumor to consider cars confirmed. I do not ever recall saying that there are many new sponsors. There may be in the future and maybe not. I do know that as of today there are 13 confirmed car/driver/sponsors combinations signed and sealed among the 20 confirmed cars for 2007.If a few of the other rumored deals get done and the part time cars decide to run i can see up to possible 24 cars at homestead, but i feel 20 is safe. Two messages from you, and you have failed to approve or disapprove ( or even discuss its impolications ) the IRL/Hugo Chavez conundrum? So, do you have any issues with the IRL's Cahill Racing's sponsorship being provided by Citgo, yes or no? |

That's a lot of talk of car counts, yet no offer of a wager? Again with '20 confirmed' why no wager? Still just air, electrons and key strokes, and no substance from my perspective here in Nevada. Until the green hits the cage or the felt, it's all useless blather. When will you be backing up these unsubstantiated claims with your own cash? |

| Keep it up, ever session of school yard i dare you and i double dare you back along with your name calling is only making ccws and it's supporters look less and less professional. You can not recognize just how much you are hurting your own series with such behavior. |

Yes he did. However, he repeatedly and unfailingly failed to comment positively or negatively on Citgo being a sponsor in his beloved IRL. Having listened to his 'politically correct' conservative naiveté for many years, it would seem a large leap that he would now support the IRL and Cahill Racing in accepting money from Hugo Chavez/Citgo. In actual fact, Ricky's caught by his own duplicity. |
