Indianapolis is like the sports center of the whole country. They have the
Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 and the USGP and the AFC Super Bowl
contender. It does not get much better than that in terms of auto racing
and NFL football.

There are only two things Indy has Id have any interest in seeing these
days. Id like to meet Tony Dungy not Tony George. And by accident and the
stupidity of others, Indy wound up with Peyton Manning. Though he probably
has said things in the media he regrets, he is nothing but a class act in
good times or bad. I grew up in an area and am old enough to have watched
not only Peyton, but his dad play college ball. Few remember just how good
Archie really was and how good he might have been if he had ever played on a
team better than todays Lions or Texans.

As far as the races he mentioned, these days its a so what. A grand prix
running there with 6 cars, a stock car race sold off that historic name of
the Brickyard, and that race in May that can no longer sell out, has a stock
car race that same day that has higher ratings, is lucky to get the winner
right, and has to find a hot chick to generate any hype or interest in the
event these days. Sad thing is they create songs like I am Indy to create
the illusion of the greatest spectale in racing, when in fact its not even
the biggest race at its own track anymore.

Unless the Colts lose (which I personally hope doesn't happen). Then
you'll have the SuperBowl loser and 10,000 on Pole day (when you used
to have 100,000+ prior to 96). BFD.
