No, numbnuts, I just won't watch if it is the IRL. Are you really

that

stupid? Can you READ ENGLISH?

It will not be until 2005, if at all. It may depend on how many CART

teams

You mean you will learn how to read in 2005? Why not now?

I can read just fine, thank you. I even know some big words.

That's news.

CART has slowly turned itself into a near trash sport. Even their

beloved

Players wants nothing to do with them any longer. No sponsors mean no

race

Are you really that stupid? If you can read then read about the
Canadian... oh never mind. It's pointless.... sigh...

teams. The chance of very many sponsors stepping up to the plate in

2004 is

getting dimmer by the day. Nobody wants to be associated with a loser.
Especially when there are so many other choices available.

Like the IRL race in Cleveland.

Don't be bringing up no CN ciggy ad bad dodge. They still have Marlboro and
Virginia Slims sports stuff.

CART just does not have any fans to interest *any* sponsors. That is why
FedEx left.
And the reason the IRL has not found a title sponser.

In this corner--rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. In this
corner--doing the same on the Exxon Valdez.

Sigh.

The race officials who represent Long Beach said that if CART falters
they
*will* have a major racing series. So are you going to go to the Long
Beach
City Hall and stomp your little feet and tell them that you do not think
the
IRL is good enough for their streets?

They said MAJOR racing series. So it can't be the EARL it must be F1.
*brain whirrs, things click into place*

So maybe that's why Pook has been meeting Ecclestone? Not to buy CART, but
to run F1 at Long Beach. Just as F1 names such as Ron Dennis are making
noises about a 2nd US race... Hmm, interesting...

BTW does this guy really think the IRL will go to Long Beach while Chris
Pook is still breathing?

We SoCalifornians will *NEVER* attend an IRL race in measurable quantities.

That remains to be seen. Indy 500 winners racing in the Long Beach Grand
Prix? The fans will be lined up at the turnstyles. The Latin charm of Gil
and Helio? Lawwd have mercy, they may need the National Guard just for
crowd control. I can see it now.

None of this is new. The original plan of the IRL included road
courses. And the new chassis' were made to accept fueling on both
sides. Get with the program already. It has nothing to do with
anything other than the fact is that now is a good time for it. TG has
always said he wanted to control the grow at a steady pace. What I find
surprising were Penske's coments that Oval racing is where it's at and
if he is saying that it means something. He has done more in
motorsports and business, and the business of motorsports than most
anyone on the planet.

Long Beach is an event more than it is a race. I would say at least 80% of
the attendee's could not distinguish between a CART car and an IRL Car. They
are there to be seen. Most care more about the celebrity race than the
actual CART race. The crowds would be there no matter what type of racing
it is.

If Cart is no longer around, and the teams and drivers you supported in CART
are now in the IRL, racing on the same tracks they raced on in CART, in cars
with more HP than the current CART cars, Why would you not watch if you are
a race fan?
No seriously....Im really curious about that answer.
