Now one question might be interesting to see. Will the ALMS crowd that came out today, come back to watch the IRL??? Frankly I doubt it, at least not but once. I would expect the ALMS race today to outdraw the IRL event tomorrow. Then again what doesn't? |

The top 5 are within .3 of a second. A change here and an adjustment there and those car cars that could be competitive. At 6th you have a big drop. There its .8 of a second. Its a 100 lap race so unless some magic wand appears they are going to be a lap down. Any car not on the lead lap isn't (insert your own choice of bad words here). By my math they should be a lap down about 75 or so. Sam that IRL stand out should be going a lap down somewhere near lap 60. Media darling and overall hot babe Danica Patrick should go a lap down somewhere near lap 33 which with the race length should give her time to go 3 laps down by the end and still have the media partners hyping what a great job she did. Race winner Scott Sharp, Ed and Foyt IV should only need about 25 laps to lose a lap and could easily finish 4 laps down given an all green race, all with no problems. If they were to let Sarah run, which I have not a single doubt they will, could fall a lap down on the parade lap. The top five cars are all that would be worth anything. Out of that 5, at least a couple will have problems. It might be a miscue on a pitstop, a racing incident on track, a cut tire, a blown engine or any of a thousand things that can happen to a race car. At least one is likely to get taken out by one of the moving chicanes in the back. Id guess no more than 3 cars on the lead lap at the end. Now one question might be interesting to see. Will the ALMS crowd that came out today, come back to watch the IRL??? Frankly I doubt it, at least not but once. I would expect the ALMS race today to outdraw the IRL event tomorrow. I saw only a few laps toward the end but I saw only open stands, was there really a crowd? Classic stuff from Ol' Binocs. "I saw only a few laps. . . . " "open |

Some things never change. And the cross post, too. I guess he had to liven up RASC in any way he could. Pretty soon it should really be quiet over there. |
