I thought I had battery issues...Rodeo would start up fine...next time...click and engine would not turnover...Had the parts place do a check(hard charge on the battery) battery is fine...Did the turn the lights on then the wipers...no dimming of the lights...What I was wondering... a year ago my clutch switch went south(standard transmission Rodeo)they were out of switches...so a auto repair guy bypassed the switch with a "jump wire"...Said jumper appears to be still secure and intact...so... do I have a clutch switch jumper,or s ignition switch issue? or just what? Help! I need this Rodeo to get to the cabin in bad weather... |

If you're hearing a clicking as you hit the ignition but no engine turning over sounds...my guess would be a starter going out. I just had that happen with my Dodge Caravan. Very intermittent...then it did it last week while I was at the repair shop paying for work done on our Trooper - they came out and diagnosed it (after a having it a week and not getting it to act up) as a failing starter. That's what I fear...I have a Chilton and a Haynes book but neither show where the starter is...I put the Rodeo up on jacks and I still can't find it...(I was going to clean the connects and hope I could get it((Rodeo)) started) and down to some repair place ...I do a lot of my own repairs but I've not done a starter...I've heard the newer Rodeo's starters are a *itch to change out... I've heard it's bad on the Trooper's with the 3.2 v6...and supposedly the same for that engine in the rodeo...not sure what year it went in the rodeo.
