Chevy is bringing back the 7 liter (427 CI) in the 2006 Corvette Z06. It's 7 liter LS7 engine produces 500hp and the vette weighs 3,130 lbs. The engine is the strongest smallblock in GM history (factory) and features a titanium valvetrain and drysump lubrication. The car's mufflers have vacuum operated Pierburg valves that open at about 3500 RPM to allow exhaust to pour straight through each muffler. It also has a Hydroformed aluminum chassis and manesium engine cradle. The engine produces it's 500 hp at 6200 rpm and 475 lb ft of torque at 4800 rpm. The camshafts .591 inch lift is the highest of any GM street cam in history. Jeff |
