Just wondering why engines 'tick' after shutting off? I never noticed a lot of ticking before the rebuild, and notice it more now...perhaps because I am listening more intently. Anyway, what is the cause of this phenomenon? Jo |

Sounds like a heat shield cooling? Im not sure what you mean ticking after its off. |

Likely time to retorque the intake and exhaust manifolds Jo. If 'slightly' loose, they will make a ticking noise when cooling down. On a long head like the 258's sometimes more than one retorque is needed.
