I was tinkering with the Jeep and debating whither I want to tackle the harmonic balancer today (no, I don't have a pusher and HATE messing with those things, I've had nightmare experiences with them on Studebakers), it will wait (I hope) until next weekend and the right tools. I had a situation with an old Ford van ambulance years ago where the chain
from the mechanical throttle control got caught up in the throttle cable...I
bet something was loose and got caught up in your throttle linkage, like a
vacuum line.
