Default SOA kit suggestions - 03-27-2006 , 07:11 PM

Looking for suggestion on bolt-on SOA kits. Need one for my '85 CJ-7. Who
has what. Why is this kit better than that one? Where to buy the kit?

Please help me with this project. Not any good local shop to help me out.

TIA

Rocky-road outfitters sells a bolt-on SOA kit for YJ. May work on CJ too,
not sure. www.rocky-road.com

Thanks for the reply Earle. The wussy comment wasn't really needed though.
I like my CJ.

This looks like a not-too-bad deal to me.

At least the CJ's wussy leaf springs have a positive arch in them unlike
the Yuppie Jeeps flat saggy leafs that one usually sees with an inverted
arch....

Hi Earle,
Do you have thirteen leaves per axle side:

Bill,

Every built up CJ that I have seen, looks as if it is going to topple
sideways, when those all too narrow leaves yank the spring bushings right
out of their sockets.

Earle, that is the purpose of the spring over eh. He uses the stock
springs and still gets the lift....

Besides, CJ's don't fall off their springs... That's a trick reserved
for TJ's... ;-)

Hi Earle,
Well, they were designed to use backhoes, post hole digger,
Fork-lift, mowers,
http://www.apple.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Lit...SpecEquip.html And without
your track bar, they probably do oscillate around to better crawl over
rocks.
