Default advise on buzzing coming from glovebox ls400 - 09-08-2009 , 06:22 PM

hello,
I noticed a buzzing sound starting to come from the glove box on
ls400.

I can start digging around for loose screws or trim, but I was curious
to see if anyone else has seen this. For all I know there may be a
simple fix for this I'm not aware of.

Thank you,

Oskar

I would start by removing all loose items from the glove box. Does your LS
have the CD changer by the glove box?

No CD changer - thats in the trunk.
I removed all items - but still buzzing.
I noticed if my brother presses down on the glove box while i drive,
the buzzing goes away.
I'm sure it's something with glove box itself or the screws holding
it.

Thank you,

Oskar

If pressing on the glove box door makes the buzzing go away, try adjusting
the u-shaped striker for the glove box so that it is a little tighter.

Ah!
Excellent idea
my brother had the glove box door down and he was pressing on the
interior of the glovebox (i guess you'd call it the base or bottom).
Same thing or something else? Sorry for the silly questions but I've
never taken apart this glove box!

It sounds like something else. First, try tightening the screws that hold
the interior of the glove box in place. If that doesn't work, remove the
screws, remove the interior of the glove box, tape a piece of foam to the
outside of the bottom of the glove box, and replace the glove box.
