On 20 Jun 2003, dk tossed this out: There's no AC or Heater on/off button, unless I'm missing something. There's Auto/Manual, fan speed and Temperature control. "Dori Schmetterling" <ng (AT) nospam (DOT) co.uk> wrote in message news:3ef2df3c$0$10626$cc9e4d1f (AT) news (DOT) dial.pipex.com... AC switched off and heater off? I don't have your model but I thought I would state the generic obvious, just in case it helps. DAS -- --- NB: To reply directly replace "nospam" with "schmetterling" --- "dk" <dobe (AT) cogeco (DOT) remove.ca> wrote in message news:yfsIa.35495$b67.4335438 (AT) read2 (DOT) cgocable.net... I drive a 94 C220 and I'm wondering how I can have just outside air or fan to blow through the vents without having the heat or AC kick in. Thanks, Dan Trying to remember the controls on our previous 95 C280. With the automatic climate control system, you have to work for what you requested. I say use the EC button ("Economy" with no A/C compressor engagement), set the temperature pretty low to prevent the system from adding heat, and you must select fan speed manually. Keeping it at lowest fan speed with these other settings should provide a modest flow of undoctored outside air. If you select Auto for fan speed, the system may try to crank the fan way up if there is much of a difference between the selected temperature and the measured interior temp. If you raise the selected temp to try to control auto fan speed, you may get some heat added. Good luck, Alec Cordova Taylor, Texas 89 300CE, 159K, also with automatic climate control, but my A/C is dead again anyway due to Freon loss through the big expensive hose. |
