Default Service Wrench - 12-01-2004 , 10:20 AM

Does anyone know how to reset the service light (Wrench) in a 2002 C Class
without bringing it for dealer service. It is out of warranty and I am just
changing the oil till I trade it in the spring.

Should be in your owner's manual on how to reset that.

Larry,

Try this (from an old post):

Quote:
You use the same button that you press twice to display the remaining FSS
mileage. It's usually the lowest of the three buttons on the left side of
the instrument cluster; on yours, probably the (R) button.

You also use the ignition switch. There are four positions of the
ignition
key/steering lock:

(0) Off (Locked)
(1) Off (Unlocked)
(2) On
(3) Start

With the doors closed, place your thumb over the (R) button on the lower
edge of the instrument cluster and get ready. Here we go:

Turn the key in the steering lock to Position (2). Within four seconds,
press Button (R) twice. The present status for days or distance is
displayed. Within 10 seconds, turn key in steering lock to Position (0).
Press and hold Button (R) while turning key in steering lock to Position
(2)
again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more.
Continue to hold Button (R). After approximately 10 seconds, a signal
sounds, and the display shows the reset mileage or distance. Release
Button
(R).
