Having bought a replica Cooper (knowingly) recently look on the log book.
Mine says 1995 Mini Spirite

In my case, she looks just like a Cooper, the previous owners did a
wonderful job.

Yet, for a quick guide for cars of between roughly 1990 onwards (when the
first coopers reappeared) look at the rear passenger windows. Cooper windows
are crome rimmed and open, but the base model had black rimmed fixed
windows. As changing these are is often a fiddly job and easily overlooked
this can be a good clue.

Of course this doesn't allow for the Mayfair and the occasional special
editions (although most specials were based on the spirite) so really the
best advice is see the log book.

Hope that helps

Clive

hi
get in contact with the cooper register and give them the engine/chassis
numbers. some people go to a lot of trouble to fake coopers because of the
higher returns.
