This info is not the whole truth. In 1971 BMC made Mk 1 doors to fit Mk 1 bodies with the Clubman type handles as shown in IBMs photos. This is the only year these door were made that have the recessed handles. Good luck finding any though. |

bog off is a tounge in cheek way of saying f**k off...IE lighter and intended to be a humourous warning off between friends/mates and others.... But me Im into Mini's for the fun not commercial gain....so "I don't buy Minis'" is my handle unless its to prevent another rare classic being bought for the US market were they are currently fashionable...for now...but you'll all be bored with them when the next Bettle or what ever fashion hits the scene and then they will just rust away soemwhere as long forgotten treasures....which means another classic is lost to the world and one less for us true dedicated fans to cherisein which case then I suggest you wear it And for the record Im not on medication so have no prescription to fill, not all of us live our lives based on potions, pills and phyc couches.... There may be a ebay for NZ....why not take a look Im not about to help someone who might bid against me LOL "iBuyMinis" <quicksilver_nospam_ (AT) ibuyminis (DOT) us> wrote in message news:uBDJa.24396$_q2.7645 (AT) nwrddc03 (DOT) gnilink.net... Ah the little slidey windows. I guess if your Mini is a garage/trailer queen conversation piece. My cars are all daily drivers including my Mini so it has to offer modern day convenience. I can just imagine myself sitting in SoCal traffic in middle of summer in a sliding window, NOT. ------------------------------ http://iBuyMinis.Us "The Muffin Man" <muffin.man (AT) mad (DOT) SPAMRATANDSPAMWITHBEANSscientist.com wrote in message news:3ef8be68$1_2 (AT) mk-nntp-2 (DOT) news.uk.tiscali.com... In 1971 BMC made Mk 1 doors to fit Mk 1 bodies with the Clubman type handles as shown in IBMs photos. The lift up door handle design was introduced along with various other "Clubman" features such as the 1098 motor, negative earth, alternators and a 4 synchro box over the (short) life of the Mini K from 1969 to 1971. This is the only year these door were made that have the recessed handles. Good luck finding any though. The doors for a Mini K with lift handles are identical to the doors fitted to an Aussie Clubman. Can you tell from the photograph at: http://ibuyminis.us/IBM%20Images/IM002064.jpg> whether that car is a Clubman or a Mini K? The front panels are not visible... All Australian Clubman bodies are Mk1 bodies - they all have external hinges, the small rear window, etc. These lift handle doors with quarter vent windows are probably the easiest Mini doors to find in Australia! |

(mainly motorway) Is that like freeway? |

If so at what speed are you moving? |

In SoCal most freeways are parking lots. Yes of course there are many slidey windows in SoCal. -- ------------------------------ http://iBuyMinis.Us "The Muffin Man" <muffin.man (AT) mad (DOT) SPAMRATANDSPAMWITHBEANSscientist.com wrote in message news:3efa1e45$1_2 (AT) mk-nntp-2 (DOT) news.uk.tiscali.com... Excuse me? The pickup is a daily driver which in past years has done up to 22,000 miles (mainly motorway) a year. The good thing about sliding windows is that if they are opened you don't go deaf from the wind noise and you don't get blown about too much by the buffeting of 70mph. If you open the front ones in spring you get cooler, if you open the back ones in summer you get cool. My heater is permanently on as well as you have to go under the bonnet to turn it off. I never overheat, inside the car or unnder the bonnet. ;-) The Muffin Man "iBuyMinis" <quicksilver_nospam_ (AT) ibuyminis (DOT) us> wrote in message news:VS9Ka.841$pr3.587 (AT) nwrddc04 (DOT) gnilink.net...
