Default cold tickover problem - 12-10-2006 , 09:00 AM

Hi

Our open classic has just developed a problem. The tickover when cold is
really irregular and keeps cutting out, irrespective of where the choke knob
is. Once warmed up it is perfect, any suggestions what to check
appreciated.

later

Gary

Check choke cable and mechanism functioning properly

Give the car a general engine tune up for the winter

New Plugs

New Plug leads

New Points & condenser if fitted

New Dizzy cap

Carb Dashpot oil

New Air filter

Set tappets

Set Idle speed

Check and adjust timing

May as well change oil and filter while you are at it.

Hope this helps

Cheers
