Wasn't it supposed to be a hillclimber but came way down the pack as it was impossible to avoid the trees with it? That's the one. I think it was stuffed big time in the end. The way I understand it GTD (who produced lovely GT40 replicas) decided to have a little fun with a 'spare engine and box' one day. -- Rgds Steve steve (AT) dsnclassics (DOT) co.uk www.dsnclassics.co.uk "The Muffin Man" <muffin.man (AT) mad (DOT) SPAMRATANDSPAMWITHBEANSscientist.com wrote in message news:3fccc9ce$1_2 (AT) mk-nntp-2 (DOT) news.uk.tiscali.com... It is a great idea as a novelty but totally useless for handling. My point was that a rear wheel drive pickup with a V8 engine in the back goes like stink and goes round corners like a fish on roller-skates. Much like a Beetle with a Porsche engine in it. Odd that we only have Mini vs. Beetle drag races and not Mini vs. Beetle track days or rally's....... |

Ah, but this was actually mid engined, not rear engined.
