Hi

Unfortunately this did not solve the problem. I put the motor back on, then
charged the battery and then checked the earth straps - no success.

Under the bonnet on the right of the bulkhead there are two relays which I
could hear clicking when I turned the key to the start position. I put my
hand on them to see which one was clicking when I turned the key and hey
presto it started.

To cut a long story a bit shorter one of the wires was corroded through on
the one nearest the passenger side. Fixed it and all is fine.

Who'd of thought it eh?

What do these two relays do?

Hi Gary,
is it a fuel injected Rover mini ? and are the relays orange in colour, if
so, I think the other relay is the fuel pump relay, I had a similar problem
a while ago with my Sidewalk,

Cant remember if i said that i fixed the SRS light on my se7en?

Rover wanted to fit a new module at £172 plus vat, i bought a 2nd hand one
at £50 but still didnt work.

Took it to the local arches on route to work and told them to get there
electrics expert to look at it,
he tried and failed to remove the dash so wacked it instead and the light
went off and stayed off (within normal operating parameters of course) Goes
on and off when it should do now....
Good old British uneducated wack, does wonders....

Sorted :-)
