Hi All, I am fitting a 1275cc metro engine into a 1981 1275GT and wanted
to
know how to wire up the starter motor???
I notice there are 2 terminals on it rather than 1. |
I would change the entire flywheel assembly and starter motor from your
1275GT. Then you don't have the problem of wiring it!
If you do want to use the pre-engaged starter, then the piggy back part is
the solenoid. You won't need the one mounted on the inner wing. Just wire it
exactly the same as the old solenoid.

Also, how do I plumb in the existing heater as I notice their is no hole
in
the head for it? |
If you have the 2 tapped holes with a blanked hole inbetween, drill it out.
Use some grease on the end of the drill to stop too much swarf dropping into
the water jacket. If there are no holes at all, you have got a fun job! The
later Metro's had a totally different heater arrangement and it is awkward
to mimick in a Mini.
