Default 4 x 4 Rear Lights - 10-27-2009 , 12:20 PM

I find myself wondering why most (maybe all) 4 x 4's seem to have 2 pairs of
clusters of rear lights. Some at bumper level and some higher up.

Is it styling? Is it to make it easy to comply with regulations in different
markets?

Any answers?

The higher up ones are more visible when driving, but one side can be
hidden when parked with the door open.

Nick Finnigan <nix (AT) genie (DOT) co.uk> gurgled happily, sounding much like they
were saying:

Yup - not least because of tailgate-mounted spare wheels.
