Dr Zoidberg (alexNOOOOOO!!!!!!!@drzoidberg.co.uk) gurgled happily,
sounding much like they were saying :

or one they're selling?

MOT would be nice but isn't essential, need a Mk3 that drives well
but is ideally scruffy with a good engine / box / diff.

87-92 (non cat) would be perfect.

Cash waiting for the right one (maybe need more than one..)

Do I spot a silly project in the making...?

Sounds like quite a sensible project IMO

If Pete's involved, it won't be *that* sensible.

Knowing Pete, he'll buy the wrong Grandad and end up with a Twinker
engine instead of a Pinto then wonder why the fuck it won't fit.
This'll be the same Pete who's owned about 60 Fords and never bought the
wrong one yet...

If he got either, it'd be one helluva cockup, since he explicitly
states he wants a 2.9...

Missed that.

Plenty of rotting Sierra XR4x4 on fleabay.

So you missed "engine/box/diff" in the original post, too?
Bingo, full marks to the Citrophile, zero to the Yorkie muncher.

I'd like a 4x4 one but as this particular project has front wheels about 2ft
further forward than the engine there's fuck all chance of getting the 4x4
system to fit. XR4x4 driveshafts pass through the sump which pretty much
knackers any chance of 4wd.

2.9 isn't a Pinto anyway, it's a Cologne..

I hope his Capri backfires less than his quips do.

Oh, and while I'm buying stuff, anyone got a decent car transporter trailer
they'd like to sell, preferably an Ifor Williams or Brian James one. 16x6ft
bed would be nice.

:-)

there is a good sounding one on ebay for 300 buy it now

I just bought that one for £200.

Quite nice as well, all the toys work, engine is nice but slightly
tappety. Goes well....

Now, anyone else got a Mk3 Granada 2.9 they don't want?
You need more than one? This isn't the fabled engine-at-both-ends 6 litre
4WD kitcar is it?

Unfortunately not. I'm building at least two of this project, depending on
how No1 goes. Thing is, since someone mentioned doing a 2.9 Fiesta I'm half
tempted to do that as well now....

All will be revealed in the nearish future..
