Bonnet release on my Golf is jammed and will not open.

Anyone recommend an action?

First thing to try is to get someone to push down on the bonnet while you
pull on the release lever, this might be enough.

Failing that, you might be able to remove the front grille and operate the
catch with a screwdriver etc
