Retaxing Cars Online

6 months ago I taxed my car online and it worked ok .That was the
first time and I had to get the Ref number from the registration Cert
..
This time I again want to do it but despite what the website says the
reminder does NOT have the reference in the yellow box on the front as
it says here . I've now had to look for the V5 to get it from that .

Am I missing something here or do some reminders have the Ref number
and some not .
