I have been offered a BMW X3

Run away, run away.

Sorry, 'offered' was the wrong term used here. I actually looked for
and found the car.

If you plan to keep the car for a while and you're sure that it's been
repaired properly then it might be (relatively) good value. The
trouble is when you come to sell it and no-one wants it. Watching TV
the other day though apparently you can get categorised cars re-
categorised as "fixed" now which I wasn't aware of.

If the screen was replaced then I hope all the airbags etc were too.
You take a gamble and it's up to you to decide how much you want to
bet.
I once rolled a car, destroying the screen, the rear quarter window, every
single panel on the car, the driver's seat, etc. etc. etc. It wasn't enough
of a frontal impact to set off the driver's airbag. I reckon it's perfectly
possible to mangle plenty of panels without setting off an airbag...
