Documentry on the St Nazarre raid Operation Chariot Excellent and thought provoking. (for the pedantic among you it had Britains favourite motoring programme presenter after Hammond and was in the Top Gear timeslot!!!!) |
He does do these things awfully well I think. His admiration for the
British Army and what it acheives with a bits of string and papermache comes
shining through. I just think the veterans are superb when you hear them
speaking of their exploits. It's all, "What ho, chaps?! We just did what
we had to to do."
The line of when the boat was crashed in to the gate after the chap steering
it took over from two that had been shot dead. "There we are. Four minutes
late". Also, there are 5,000 Germans and eighty of us and we need to get
out of the town over that bridge. Let's gather ourselves up and CHARGE!
Absolutely brilliant.

I can't find anything to say if it's repeated. It was called "The Greatest
Raid of All" if that helps.
