Gearchange in our Multipla is problematic, ranging between OK and very crunchy. At its worst it will pull along if in gear with the clutch depressed all the way to the floor. Its a W2000, approx 65000 miles, 105JTD I thought it would be the hydraulics, with it being variable, but there is no sign of leaks and has been bled. Local repair man wants to put a new clutch in it but as it is engaging rather than slipping I can't see that it is worn. Would a new clutch be indicated in this case? Is it likely to be a mechanism within preventing it from disengaging? Also how much should I be looking at to replace a clutch on one of these? Cheers, Rick |
