Default Emissions Warning light on Vauxhall Corsa - 03-21-2005 , 12:52 PM

Hi,

My Corsa's emissions warning light turned on yesterday and has been on
since - I've not driven it much since then (a couple of miles) and have
booked it in to be checked at a main dealer next Thursday (the earliest they
could manage).

Does anyone know what the problem could be, and whether it is safe/advisable
to continue driving the car over the next 10 days - it would be for no more
than 5-10 miles per day.

John.

Should mention that it's a 1.0l 2002 Corsa in case that makes any
difference. Completely factory-spec.

Call into a vauxhall dealer, they will be able to diagnose the problem,
plus it may be covered under warranty.

That's the problem - they can't take a look for another 10 days
unfortunately.

From the description in the manual, it doesn't sound critical (just
increased emissions really). I might try the dealer direct rather than the
'contact centre' though.

That's digusting if they can't even look at it for 10 days but do talk
to the dealer direct (or better still just turn up and ask) rather than
a fleet contact centre.

Our policy is to offer prompt diagnosis, advise whether it is safe to
drive and to do the repair on the spot if it is easy or book it in if
it will take longer.

Most should look at it and advise although they might be too busy to do
it on the spot.
