And I read BMW are thinking of buying Volvo and or Alfa.

Seems they never learn...

'Bout time too. Perhaps they'll get back to building to Mercedes standards
again now.

they were saying :

Will be reported in the US press as "Chrysler ditches loss-making
Daimler division."
<grin>

$36bn merger, $5bn sale. Definitely Chrysler levels of depreciation...

So typical Chrysler, not only is the depreciation vertical but the
seller has to pay a fortune to put the vehicle in good condition
before anyone will buy it.

Depreciation seems to be glacial at the moment - they're 26k new and you
can't buy a 2 year old one for less than 20k.

[1] I get the feeling that the first time I drove one, that would all
change....

Yup, several 2005 Hemis for sale from £15,000 to £20,000. And in fact
a couple of low mileage 2006 diseasels for sale for less than 20K.
Weird. A national search of every 300C only for me only brings up a couple
of Dodge Magnums and LHD imports under 20k.

Half price Hemi, you say? Must resist.

I'm with you on this one, Grant - just seeing one 05/55 RHD v6 petrol for a
fiver under £20k - and a bunch of cack-hander v8s.

I was reading something on that earlier - they *considered* buying Alfa,
and abandoned the idea, before they *considered* buying Volvo, and
abandoned THAT idea, too...
